JOYSLAM

Native artist RJ Martine and his band Joyslam are on the air everywhere with their new CD "Heat Moon" released online worldwide through Canadian based label Trilogy Records International, which is distributed by The Orchard. Their CD which is being supported by tour dates in Ontario, with recent appearances including an opening slot for Burton Cummings at Brampton, Ontario's Canada Day Celebrations, which saw 50,000 in attendance; and WORLDFEST July 18 & 19, among others.

The CD is being played in Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Africa, and of course Canada. Their music has been compared to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sublime with a dash of Bob Marley thrown in, making for a great mix! The CD features original material penned by RJ, along with some select covers, all blended with the definitive Joyslam funk rock mix which the band is noted for. The band's ability to select and interpret the hits of yesterday that have a resounding message right for today's savvy music fans can be a daunting task, yet they have managed to find the right mix of "hit" mainstays and combine them with original titles that stand up to their covers of artists like BT Express, Brass Construction, and Danny Elfman.

RJ, a native Indian of Mohawk heritage, is delighted with the initial reaction from radio and fans at live events, stating, "Having the opportunity to have our music heard on radio around the world and being able to appear at some great venues, in particular opening for Burton Cummings on Canada Day and performing for a very diverse audience at WORLDFEST has been greatly rewarding. We like to think of our music as World-Music and hope to perform everywhere we have an opportunity."
